Memories from over the years

Thailand, 2018

Our first trip together. After three weeks of wandering around Asia with backpacks, Bettina made sure: “Are we actually backpacking?”

St. Petersburg, 2019

We woke up at three in the morning for our flight to St. Petersburg. Only Emil was allowed to board the plane, and Bettina had to follow by train because she should not have used special characters in her visa. What will the couple’s new shared surname be in 2026?

Hämeenlinna, 2020

At Emil’s family cottage by the lake, in a golden sunset.

Visby, 2021

We sailed from Hanko, Finland to Gotland, Sweden. The trip was unforgettable, and Visby was beautiful.

New York, 2022

We spent a total of 10 days in the summery metropolis. The temperature was +30°C, but Emil had packed only woolen long pants. Occasionally we cooled off in the shops.

Helsinki, 2023

We received an invitation to a gala evening at the Old Student House. Food, music, and a festive atmosphere.

In the summery Esplanadi park with our little dog Nala. Nine-year-old Nallu has been an important part of our journey from the very beginning. <3

The future holds many more meaningful memories – and one of them will come in April 2026.

Wedding Information

Ceremony at the Old Church of Helsinki

The ceremony begins at 3:00 PM. We kindly ask guests to arrive well in advance, no later than 2:45 PM.

Guests are welcome to sit on either side of the church — “pick a seat, not a side.”

We kindly ask you to refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. A professional photographer will capture the moment so the rest of us can fully enjoy it.
Photography during the wedding reception at the Winter Garden is not only allowed, but highly encouraged!

Wedding Reception at the Winter Garden, Restaurant Sipuli

The wedding reception will be held at the Winter Garden of Restaurant Sipuli, located in central Helsinki at Kanavaranta.

Dress Code

Black tie or dark suit.

Gifts

Your presence is the greatest gift! If you wish to give something, we would appreciate a contribution to our honeymoon.

  • You may wear a tuxedo or a dark suit, an evening gown, or a midi- or knee-length dress. Please avoid all-white or bright red attire.

  • If you would like to honor us with a speech or a few words, you can contact our wedding hosts in advance, Saana and Kaarlo, who will be coordinating the day’s schedule.

  • There is limited paid street parking near the Old Church of Helsinki and Restaurant Sipuli. Due to the central locations, we recommend arriving at the ceremony and traveling from the church to the reception primarily by public transportation or taxi.

  • Please let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements when you RSVP.

  • We kindly ask that you RSVP by February 25th.

  • The invitation applies only to the individuals named on the invitation. We appreciate your understanding, as the arrangements have been made according to the venue’s capacity.
